this is great interview! thanks for posting. i’m surprised he lasted, he was all but rolling his eyes at some points. Can I just say how beautiful he was at this time too…

@Andrew – you are welcome. I was very happy to see a 43 min interview from the Tender Prey period in pristine condition. First I thought there would be voice-overs as we’ve seen in various other European TV interviews but I was glad to see that this chap was English fluent. He certainly did his best with a reticent interviewee. (Not that I blame Nick at all. It was another long-suffering situation.) A rather high number of ‘I don’t know’ answers. Saying Paris was a terrible place to play. How badly he’d been treated. Poor equipment. When it got to Maynard’s dialogue, I thought I’d die! “Want me to show you how I acted?” “Did you write it yourself?”
I laughed so much… 
I realize he’d just come out of rehab in September and was probably not feeling that great anyway but that look in his eyes said, ‘if I have to sit here for bloody 40+ minutes, I am going to fuck with you as much as possible.’
