Reissues, interviews, laughs and letting love in

Photos from a 1982 edition of the Polish magazine Muziekkrant OOR

From old pics to brand new news! According to the
official Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Web site, in addition to the first four NC&TBS album reissues, due in March 2009, a deluxe 14-disc boxed set containing every reissued studio album is in the works!

On December 1, 2008, Nick presented the Turner Prize to one lucky artist at the Tate Gallery in London. Video here. That is some intense enthusiasm there, Nick. πŸ˜€

Here’s a recent interview , dubbed in French, that has a few golden moments.

I’ve always worn suits, ever since I could afford it, I started to wear suits. There is a sense of being prepared, you know, prepared for the day. If you get run over you’re not in a pair of fucking Bermuda shorts and flip flops, do you know what I mean?

Thanks to Caroline our supreme Fix Hunter for the news updates, and for sharing some tidbits from her personal collection!
A Norwegian interview on the Lydverket show, Jan 2003, and a French interview from Le Journal de la Culture, Sept 21, 2004
Thanks dear!

On an even lighter note πŸ™‚
Thanks to PrickMayall for this laugh: NC&TBS’ “MTV Hell” intro set to a gorgeous pic in “Dismembered, dyslexic…techno hell!”

And thanks to CreationBaby for uploading one of my favorites:

  1. Nick once ‘complained’ he had skinny legs… I actually think he has [ahem] VERY nice legs…

  2. Jeez! That flickr pic is KREEPY!!!!! The whole outfit is a spook! πŸ˜€
I think the other one is actually pretty nice πŸ™‚ I actually like khaki bermudas and Nick looks nice on them 😐

  3. OMG, yes, I need that statue!! πŸ˜€

    found this article :

He said the sculpture would resemble a small-scale model by British sculptor Corin Johnson which was exhibited at the Victorian Arts Centre in Melbourne.

Cave said all that was left to do was find a way to fund the $60,000 project.

“I am looking for a wealthy benefactor who would be interested in investing in an historical monument that will make Frank Rusconi’s Dog on the Tuckerbox pale by comparison,” he said.

“Other options might include a benefit concert in the Wimmera.”

Cave also plans to attend the unveiling of the sculpture and said his Australian representatives were already looking for a place for him and his guests to stay.

“I’ve probably jumped the gun a little but have already invited various friends in the entertainment world,” he said.

“Russell Crowe, my mate, has promised to attend. Snoop Dogg, a rapper, says he’ll come if they let him into the country. Kylie Minogue said she wouldn’t miss it for the world; she even promised to wear her gold lame hot pants.”

  4. OMG Caroline, I think you need your own Nick-on-a-horse statue! Maybe they’ll make replicas πŸ˜‰ Heehee!
That pic is from the “Stories” book that they sold at the Australian Arts Centre exhibition. The Arts Centre is selling copies on eBay, which is how I got it. Kinda pricey but it’s an AMAZING BOOK! So many pics I’ve never seen, Nick explains a lot of his “artifacts” like the books he handmade in the 80s, etc.
