The Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ Live at The Royal Albert Hall CD is out and ready for downloading. It’s from 1997’s The Boatman’s Call European tour, and features 12 tracks, including the popular “Where The Wild Roses Grow” duet between Nick and Blixa. I listened and I loved it. (Not Kreepy at all.) Add to that a very funky, reggae-ish version, of “The Weeping Song” and a damnable but heartbreaking rendition of “Let Love In”, and I’d say it’s one hot CD. Great show, guaranteed to please! Buy it for your hunnee’s X-mas stocking and get a big, sloppy kiss for your thoughtfulness. *DOWNLOAD or BUY CD

Interview Feature: I am not f**king Nick Cave Here!

That’s from Nick’s interview with AU’s Daily Telegraph (12.12.08).

“But I don’t know why it’s all coming now, I can’t help it. There’s just a lot of stuff coming out, a lot of stuff pouring out at the moment. It keeps me out of mischief, from getting into any more fights with my neighbours… [invariably] my wife and kids will say, ‘Isn’t there a novel you could write?’ or something like that and I am happy to oblige.”

The interview is very funny and reminds fans about Nick’s novel, The Death Of Bunny Munro, which is due for release in early 2009. Cave characterizes the book as “chick lit”. Ohhh, Nick, like the little chewing gum candies? 😀 I love the title! Nick dated a hot German babe named ‘Bunny’ back in his wild Berlin days. I wonder if he’s drawing on his past experiences now, as he writes ‘Bunny Monroe’. If so, you heard it first here. After you’ve lived long enough, you draw from incidents in your own life when creating any work of fiction. I cannot swear this is fact in Nick’s case, but I have noticed it in my own writing.

NOTE: Nick Cave Fixes is doing a special New Year’s retrospective on our Nicky, featuring his funniest interviews, and other goodies, so stay tuned! Meanwhile… that’s today’s Nick Fix! I hope you enjoyed it and continue to dig our offerings. We love you, babies, and we’ll be back before Christmas with sumpin sumpin … ! ~ Morgan

  1. Free freethemillhaven1 –

The live CD is wunderbar! With every listen, it becomes more precious. Agreed, it's worth every penny to get the full version! LATRAH gives us a glimpse back to the 1997 Boatman's Call Tour, preserving a beautiful period in NC&TBS history. Sublime. Ohhh.

I hope 2009 is a great year, too!

    Cheers & blessings – Morgan

  2. The Live at the Royal Albert Hall CD is a great performance by the Bad Seeds and well worth purchasing even if you already own the slightly shorter version of the CD which came with the Best of.

Also really looking forward to the new book. I believe the release date is September 2009 and there will also be a limited edition signed version as well as an audio book read by Nick.

Sounds as if 2009 could be another great year. Fingers crossed that Grinderman get into the studio soon for their second album.

  3. You’re welcome. I can’t wait for the book either. Let’s hope it’s really sexy! With a lot of bloody murders. 🙂 A chick version of L.A. Confidential? Very interesting if the main character is a woman … !
