Nick Cave: All Tomorrow’s Parties (LIVE 1988)

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds – “All Tomorrow’s Parties”
[Live concert footage from Ljubljana 1988. The audio sounds like a video dub of the studio track. But it’s always good to see vintage Bad Seeds footage!

  1. RE: Wings of Desire

NC: I’m playing this incredibly handsome and talented lead singer…

    INT: Like you are?

NC: Thanks. I’m liking it more and more here.
[love the closeups on the rings!]

  2. I’m with you, Laura. In the last two years of the 80s, what we now refer to as ‘alternative music’ was existing on a hair-trigger climax. Not in a vulgar way, although that’s a valid point in aesthetics. There is a sense that this band is coming together in a way that refuses to be ignored? So it rises to the occasion, as it were, and Nick never questions it, he just rides it, does it, feels it, lives it. Wonderful.

Oh, the Nick interview in Kill That Woman is molten. How did that woman maintain her composure? πŸ™‚ He was stunning. I mean, heart-stopping STUNNING. Jesus.
