  1. In case anyone missed this gem –

    Einstürzende Neubauten, “Zerstörte Zelle”
Live at Kåren, Gothenburg, 1990. (I think the date is off, this is prolly Sept 1989.)

What unbelieveable footage! Thank you to our European friends who’ve worked so hard over the years to get these precious moments on film. I’m on my knees here! Tx to vonsatan666 for this one, in particular.

  2. You made my evening even better than it already was, ha! Thank you for this, you are doing something beautifull and I hope you know it!
I love to watch early EN performance and no, not only beacuse of young Blixa, the energy and power they have on stage is incredible, they are putting ALL they are/have in what they do and when you see something like that – it’s just pure love you HAVE to feel!

    • OMG, Shi! How are you? Glad you found your way over.

Totally agree with the pure energy and power of early EN. Jesus Christ! Once they infect you, it’s over. You can’t rid of it, it’s fatal or something. 😀

That clip has been on my hard drive for almost 3 years now. Grainy, b&w and rather bad sound. With major tweaking, I got the O.T. part and the end bit with Blixa’s cute mug. I’m quite pleased with the results. The other song was Armenia. I’ll try and see if I can get it in shape to put alongside O.T. Meanwhile, I’ll edit the post to include the partial clip that’s up on YouTube. Gimme 5 min.

      • Hehee I’m great Morgan, thanks! I had to intensly focus on my rl for a while and give up on my little addiction but now I’m making up for it! I’m so happy I’ve found this blog – I love it! Actually, maybe this is a good place to ask: I’m trying to buy a film by Wolfgang Büld and Sissy Kelling, “Berlin now” – nowhere to be found. Failed to contact the directors, the distributor, it’s killing me:( I’ll be forever gratefull for any suggestions 😉 Hugs!

        • Well, glad you finally found us. I don’t post all that much about Blixa here but depending on visitor requests/interest I put things up from time to time.

Sorry to hear you can’t make it to see Blixa and Nick on the 17th. A couple of our friends here are going and promised to take photos and report back. 🙂 Yay!

Like you, I’d love to know how to get ahold of Berlin Now. In fact, if you find it, let me know! 🙂 Blixa Bargeld’s performance of ‘Tomorrow Belongs to Me’ is superb. The clip on YouTube is ghastly quality. (Better than nothing, of course.) Brilliant stuff.

Anyone out there have Berlin Now or know where to buy a copy? Thanks! We’ll see what happens.

    • Thanks for commenting, hjr. Everything from the 80s is valuable and quickly approaching priceless. I’m glad you liked the footage. Recently, I uploaded EN’s 1989 Wien show to one of our concert video pages. The video part isn’t perfect, but the sound is quite good and it’s complete! Einsturzende Neubauten: Wien, Austria (1989-10-04) Bless ColdCell, Malin242, MutterNacht, ShiAkaShi, and so many other EN fans who’ve upload their shows. There are so few available to the public. More’s the pity. 😦
