‘You can lay your burden down’

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – Knocking on Joe (1989)

Directed by Uli Schüppel, ‘The Road To God Knows Where’ documents the band’s 1989 American tour (18 dates, 7 February – 4 March). Later that same year, Schüppel films Einstürzende Neubauten’s historic first concert in East Berlin, released on the ‘Elektrokohle – Von Wegen’ documentary DVD (2009). Bizarre to see Blixa in both films and different worlds.

  1. A knife to the heart
    An icepick to the head
    A dervish
    turned me inside out
    spun me around
    uprooted me
    and hijacked my life….
    This song is amazing!!!
