Nick Cave and John Hillcoat talk lesbianism, lyrics and Lawless (GQ.com, 7 Sept 2012)
Jet-lagged amid a gruelling promotional schedule, Nick Cave is so relieved that his GQ.com interview is taking place off camera that he relaxes and makes a masturbatory gesture. Then he sighs with a sudden realisation. “Your opening line is: ‘He relaxes and makes a wanking motion’, isn’t it?” he says. “I can see it now.”
According to a friend who attended last night’s Lawless Q & A in London, Nick Cave said the new Bad Seeds album is DONE and that the band will likely tour early next year. Said Cave about the new album: “It’s a real masterpiece. No seriously, leave all that other shit behind, this is the one”. Rumors abound that L.A. dates are already scheduled for February 2013.

Just what we want to hear:
Thoughout the soundtrack project, Cave didn’t forget his main band. “The Bad Seeds are never far away from any of this, and that’s what I’m working on at the moment,” he says. “The film stuff is just these brief journeys outside what I’m supposed to be doing, which is being a singer in a band.”
